Bridgette Wilson Mortal Kombat
August 26th, 2008
Mortal Kobmat is a 1995 movie starring Christopher Lambert, Robin Shou, Linden Ashby and Bridgette Wilson. It is based off of the fighting game of the same name and essentially the same story.
The premise is fairly simple: a group of hardened fighters have been brought together by a tournament held on a remote island. The tournament’s overarching purpose is to protect the world from evil beings who wish to take it over; however the contestants are generally more concerned with fulfilling their own vendettas first.
Bridgette Wilson plays a woman named Sonya Blade, a special forces member who is out to avenge the death of her partner at the hands of a killer named Kano, a man with a cybernetic eye and a vicious streak. Sonya tracks him down to the tournament and, in her own battle in the movie, gets the chance to not only defeat Kano but kill him by snapping his neck using her legs.
Shortly afterwards Sonya is captured and kept hostage for most of the rest of the movie. Not the biggest part, to be sure, but she’s still enough of one of the good guys that she makes it into the second Mortal Kombat as well, though Wilson was replaced by Sandra Hess.
